The inspiration for this painting came to me quite naturally when I was woken each day by the sound of the birds chirping early in the morning. It made me feel calm during a time when there are so many things outside of our control including how long this pandemic will last. The birds singing each morning made me feel that things are normal because I would forget for a moment or two that we are in a massive upheaval in the world. When I started this painting it was an abstract and then I started to see birdlike images within it and I loved the direction it took me with every brushstroke. The birds in this painting are singing together and they symbolize hope in a time of uncertainty. Click here to view detail images for this painting
This painting is one of Lori’s favourite works of art. It is a whimsical painting of an imagined winter garden that is full of life showing depth with a warm winter feel.
This is a painting from Lori’s Stone and Concrete Series. She is truly excited about this Abstract series. With her textile background in mind Lori creates the look of stone or concrete by the process of staining the canvas and layering her paint to create depth with an aged organic feel caused by the elements over time.
Stone At Fort Negley, a painting depiction of the ancient stone at Fort Negley Park, an urban greenspace now occupying the old battleground of Fort Negley, the largest inland masonry that was built during the American Civil War in Nashville, Tennessee
Gerrit is a show horse from Holland. His licensed name is "Gerrit Von Hauf of Galgendaal" which means Gerrit of the house of Galgendaal "which is kinda cool" said Electra Mustaine, owner of show horse Gerrit and also owner of the painting :)
Lori’s passion for painting horses is clearly shown here in this rich and heavily textured painting from her Wild Horse Series. She has captured the horses innate beauty and elegant footing in spite of its size.
This is a painting from Lori’s Wild Horse Series and is one of her figurative/abstract works. It is a heavy textured work of art with icy colouring that shows off the horses strength and power while running through the snow.
The Buffalo spirit animal is a symbol of power, strength and survival. During this time it’s easy to connect with this power animal that also symbolizes strength to carry heavy burdens.
